Behind the Seams: The Story of Ikaba
In the quiet hills of Kalimpong, a spark of vision took root—a dream woven not just in fabric, but in legacy, love, and a relentless pursuit of perfection. This is the story of Ikaba, a brand born from generations of hard work, family values, and an undying passion for timeless fashion.

It began with Nitesh Bansal, a determined entrepreneur from Kalimpong, who worked alongside his father Mr. Binod Kumar Agarwal in a modest wholesale and retail outlet. Back then, they sourced ethnic wear from the vibrant markets of Jaipur, Rajasthan. But something always felt missing—the perfect fit, the right design, the heart of the garment.

So, they decided to create it themselves.

What started as outsourcing soon evolved into manufacturing their own pieces, right in the cultural heartland of Jaipur. With fabrics sourced locally and artisans carefully handpicked, the vision was clear: make clothing that feels just right—for every woman, every moment.

But scaling this dream meant more than just better designs. It meant courage. In pursuit of expansion, Nitesh moved to Siliguri with his wife and two daughters, setting up a new retail + wholesale outlet at Hill Cart Road, Siliguri in 2019. The journey was bold—but so was the man behind it.

What drove him forward was not just business—it was legacy. The original venture was named after his great-grandfather: Ramji Lal Binod Kumar. But as dreams evolved, so did the name.

Ikaba—a name inspired by Nitesh’s younger daughter, Varnika Bansal—was born as a symbol of new beginnings. It wasn’t just a brand; it was family, fabric, and future rolled into one.

Fast forward to 19th March 2025: the official launch of the Ikaba's website, marking the brand’s next chapter—bigger, bolder, and online. From Jaipur’s local artisans to the global stage, Ikaba is ready to dress the modern woman in stories stitched with care.

This is more than a business. It’s a journey stitched through generations. And with no plans of slowing down, Nitesh Bansal continues to dream forward—with every thread, every collection, and every woman who wears Ikaba.
